movement

Dance is a selection of movements connected together with intention; choreographed or instinctual. The goal of dance is to share joy, freedom, stories, art, love, creativity and to reduce unnecessary tension in the body, mind and spirit.

contemporary

Sharing modern movement techniques inspired by individuals and instincts, as a creative expression. Contemporary dance is inspired by endless possibilities physically, artistically and conceptually. Each dancer is encouraged to find their own pathway through movement enabling the dancer to find power in their own bodies and creativity.

improvisation

Guided or instinctual improvisation encourages you to tune in and create authentic movements in response to stimulus in the present moment. Information for the mover is fed through scores or verbal propositions that mark a starting point for generation of movement for choreography, performance, practice or simply for the pleasure of moving.

ballet

Precise, formalised movements and gestures to create art using a specific movement vocabulary. Class begins with barre work, moving into centre, and finishing with allegro (jumping). Ballet encourages a quiet strength to display an ease of movement despite complex coordinations, challenging combinations all with strength, flexibility and artistry.

“Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost.”

— Pina Bausch
